Mission Statement

Omagh Integrated Nursery will work in partnership with parents, building together to offer children stimulating, challenging and positive play experiences, through which they can grow and become independent, developing to their full potential. The caring and secure surroundings of the nursery aims to provide an environment which builds the bridge between home and nursery.

AIMS OF OMAGH INTEGRATED NURSERY

  1. To provide a safe, caring and stimulating child centred education where the individual needs of the child are catered for in a secure, caring, happy environment and one in which their creativity is encouraged.
  2. To encourage the emotional, personal, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of the children.
  3. To provide learning experiences for all children which promote similarities and differences of culture, religion, gender and physical ability in an atmosphere which they are all equally valued.
  4. To ensure that we work together with the parents of our children, valuing and respecting that they are the main educators of their children.
  5. To provide the children with experienced adults working together in a united team, where everyone’s opinions, beliefs and talents are respected and valued and where contributions are encouraged.
  6. To provide learning experiences for the children, which help them to explore the World and immediate community, the roles of familiar people within the community and the child’s own understanding of their place within it.
  7. To Encourage positive attitudes to self and others and develop confidence and self esteem

Miss Curry, the Nursery teacher and Miss Fegan the Nursery assistant strive to make the nursery environment is a warm and welcoming place to be.  The Nursery unit provides a secure and stimulating environment where a positive atomsphere is created in which every child is respected as an individual.  We endeavour to make the day interesting and stimulating, so that your child meets new challenges and will learn and develop throughout their year with us.

We realise that children need to feel totally secure before any meaningful learning can take place, so we will be aiming to work closely together with you, to ensure that this secure feeling is achieved as early as possible in their Nursery year.

The Nursery staff have many years of experience with pre-school aged children and wish to allay any fears or anxieties that either parents or children may have and emphasise the fact that those early years are the happiest and most memorable experiences in a child's development.

The children are provided with opportunities both indoors and outdoors on a daily basis in a wonderful purpose build facility.  Whilst the learning taking place indoors is varied and exciting we place as much emphasis on our 'outdoor learning environment' and are privileged to offer an extended outdoor classroom with sheltered outdoor facility which can be availed of in all weather conditions.

As our Nursery provides your child with the bridge between home and formal education we ensure that their experiences are a learning curve which provides them with essential skills where the foundation stage begins - we provide the foundations upon which your child will learn!

In line with the primary school Nursery also adhere to the Healthy Eating and Nut Free Policies.
