Year Five on tour
Year 5 took their learning all the way to Belfast earlier this month, when they went to the Ulster Museum. Children took part in an interactive workshop, where they learned about Ancient Egypt and got to handle Ancient Egyptian artefacts. Children also got to visit Takabuti, the Museum's resident mummy!
We also got to visit the fascinating dinosaur, Dippy. Dippy’s home is in the Natural History Museum, London, but he is currently on tour and is on loan to the Ulster Museum. This is the first time Dippy has ventured out of London since 1905.
Dippy is a full 292-bone skeleton and, in its displayed pose, is an impressive 21.3 metres long, 4.3 metres wide and 4.25 metres high!
Throughout the visit, children fully took part in all activities, and they were enthusiastic and well-behaved. They were excellent ambassadors for their school. Well done, Year 5!
Making memories, learning lots, having fun and having amazing experiences - all in the day of a Year Five O.I.P.S. pupil!
