On Friday 4th March 2016, 21 Year 6 and Year 7 pupils participated in the Western Region Futsal Competition organised by the IFA.
FUTSAL, is FIFA’s only official 5 a side game. In Northern Ireland, the game is still relatively new but in countries like Brazil, Spain and Portugal the game is professional and has helped produce some of the world’s biggest football stars.
All teams played creative and competitive football. The girls finished on a high with a 3-0 victory against their opponents. The boys A and B team both progressed to the semi-finals and were matched against each other. The B team dominated play in the first few minutes, however the A team maintained their focus to win the match 3-0. The A team proceeded to the Final were they emerged winners of the competition. The team will now progress to the National Finals after Easter. Good luck! Thank-you to the parents and staff who supported the event.
