To celebrate Pancake Tuesday, Miss Eccles' Year Fives made pancakes today.
We covered so much learning, for example we explored aspects of Religion, as we learned about the relation of Pancake Tuesday to Lent. We delved into Literacy as we read through the ingredients and method, showing our understanding as we went along, and we learned about abbreviations, including 'tsp' and 'tbsp'. We completed lots of Numeracy related work, as we did lots of measuring, and we also had to triple the quantities of the ingredients in the recipe, to make sure we made enough pancakes for everyone! Then there were also lots of opportunities for Personal Development, as we worked as a team and learned important life skills, such as safety when cooking.
When all the hard work was done, we settled down and enjoyed our tasty treat!
