This morning Year 6 launched a six week paired reading programme. Thank-you to all the parents who attended the event. The aims of the project are:
- To improve pupils’ reading ability and understanding through an intensive 6 week reading programme.
- To encourage pupils’ reading between school and home using active support, direction and interest from teacher and parents.
- To be actively engaged with your child's reading each evening, discussing the text and nurturing their interest in it.
- To further develop pupils' confidence in reading and in selecting texts they enjoy.To expose children to new and exciting texts.
- To raise children’s reading ages.
