Year Five get their dancing shoes on!

31st Mar 2017

Year Five began a series of Céilí dancing lessons in February. We were being tutored by Kevin Goodwin, who is from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Every week, we had great fun finding our dancing feet and learning routines including ‘The Barn Dance’, ‘The Walls of Limerick’, ‘The Siege of Ennis’, ‘The Waves of Tory’ and ‘Shoe the Donkey’. We got a chance to display our dancing skills at The Primary Schools’ Céilí, which took place in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh, on Tuesday 28th March, 2017. This event was run as part of the Council’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival, and we were delighted to have been invited to take part.

Grace performed a jig for a party piece and captivated the audience with her amazingly high kicks!

Our pupils did themselves proud. As well as having fun, our boys and girls were superbly well-mannered and gave a dazzling display of their dancing skills. Well done Year Five ... keeeeeeep dancing!!
